A Brief History
St. Chris Properties and Investments Limited is an offspring of Lanre Saba & Associates, a firm of Architects and Builders. SCP was registered and incorporated in 2009, however full operations started in August 2010.
"The inspiration for St. Chris Properties & Investments Limited began with a client of ours who had some capital but didn’t know how to deploy it." Mr. Saba explained. "He wanted to do property investments and so he sought my counsel. We had done some residential designs for him prior to this and so I suggested that he goes commercial this time around. So, we developed the property commercially, made some significant turnover and I was inspired to do the same. So, I built up my capital, took the chance and went into it as well."
Another inspiration came from observing the decadence in Real Estate Development especially as it concerned Central Business District Areas. "I could see the mis-management of projects, application of wrong materials, cutting corners, etc. A significant number of developers were not doing their best and I felt we could deliver better than most of our contemporaries in the industry at the time." Mr. Saba expained.
Challenges
The most significant challenge we face is in the funding of projects. There are not many banks inclined to assist in the real estate & building industry, which means you must have a good reputation to have off takers. This in addition to the high interest rates, short payback periods, location finding, and every changing government policy.
In keeping with all these, we have ensured to develop and maintain a steady reputation of quality, honesty and efficiency in our years operating. There is no great thing like integrity in business. We strive to be very honest with people, especially in this industry with so many new & different players.

Mr. Saba is a veteran of the Construction industry with over 24 years of experience. He has work on numerous commercial and residential projects, both in the private and public sector, across the nation. He has also been a long standing partner with Sunnyland Properties Nigeria Ltd.
He began his tertiary education with Kwara State College of Science & Technology, now Kwara State Polytechnic. He then proceeded to study Construction Economy for his Bachelors Degree at the University of Lagos. He further broaded his knowledge in the field by pursuing an MBA at the Metropolitan School of Administration & Business Studies (Lagos Chapter). His thirst is shown further by a PhD. in Estate Management from Commonwealth University (London School of Graduates).
He is well decorated with numerous awards to his name. He was bestowed the Award of Excellence in Business by Global News Media Nigeria Ltd, the Most Enterprising in Business by the Yoruba Music & Films Awards (YOMAFA), the Award of Outstanding Business Mogul and the Award for Remarkable Contribution to Neighbourhood Development, both by the Lagos Island Local Goverment.
